PMBC will partner with the City of Southfield to host a wellness and beauty summit. We aim to provide a space for wellness and beauty brands to learn and connect with industry professionals and buyers during this summit. This event will promote Michigan micro-makers and manufacturers looking to promote more robust and lasting business connections within the ecosystem.

OBJECTIVES
- Boost economic growth in the state
- Retention of wellness/beauty manufacturers in-state
- Gain meaningful industry connections
- Educate wellness and beauty consumer product manufacturers
FORMAT
The event will feature a wellness and beauty consumer product makers' expo, vetted by application. We will allow 10-15 suppliers to set up expo booths. The planning team will invite potential buyers, investors, and resource partners as guests.
PMBC will set up a virtual expo option on the Connect Space platform. This will be used to attract potential buyers and investors unable to attend.
The program will feature a fireside chat with a special guest: Vesna Deljosevic, President of Reforma Group, who will discuss best practices, do's, and don't of the industry, and how she's become a success, moderated by Dan Randomski, Centrepolis.
Pitch Competition - Interested applicants would indicate interest in the show application. Three selected applicants will be invited to pitch Wellness & Beauty Consumer Product Summit on Oct 24. The winner will receive up to $5,000 in business support services, including $2500 in intellectual property (IP) legal services, from the registered patent attorneys of Ward Law Office in Southfield.
ELIGIBILITY
Participating businesses must meet the following criteria:
- Must be located in the State of Michigan and active
- Must have a registered legal business entity with EIN and business insurance
- Must have proper packaging, according to the FDA Fair Packaging and Labeling Act
- Must be a tech-enabled or advanced/innovative Consumer Product Goods (CPG)
- Must have a Wellness/Beauty product: food, skin, and software-based companies

PITCH COMPETITION
Three vendors will be selected to pitch on Oct 24, to three guest judges:
- Dr. Mark Young, Jekyll & Hyde Advertising
- Pete Martin, Michigan Founders Fund
- Herman Moore, Team 84
Your pitch will be four minutes and should include the following:
- Brief business introduction
- Articulate a customer issue and how your innovative product solves it
- How would you introduce your product into retail
- How will your product impact the market

Jul 10-24: Applications Reviewed
Aug 1: Notify selected applicants to participate in Summit and those selected to pitch
