Tech Week Grand Rapids : Putting More Color in the Tech Sector
At the upcoming Tech Week Grand Rapids event. Western Governors University (WGU) is going to host, Putting More Color in the Tech Sector as part of this year’s Tech Week Grand Rapids. Taking place September 16-21, Tech Week Grand Rapids is a week-long celebration of technology and innovation occurring in the Greater Grand Rapids region, featuring over thirty independently hosted events.
Putting More Color in the Tech Sector is taking place on Friday, September 2024, at 4:30 p.m. WGU is hosting the event at the West Michigan Center for the Arts + Technology (WMCAT) that is located at 614 First St. NW, Grand Rapids, MI. Lieutenant Governor Garlin Gilchrist of Michigan has been invited to be the main speaker for this event. He will be immediately followed by a panel of experts that will further unpack this topic and respond to questions from the audience. The moderator for the panel will be Carlos Cubia, Chief Inclusion, Equity, Diversity and Sustainability Officer for Corewell Health.

- Robert Mohr, Senior Instructor, Western Governors University, School of Technology
This event will include networking opportunities and provide those looking for entry level or leadership tech positions with the opportunity to visit information tables hosted by tech companies, Tech Week Grand Rapids, and Western Governors University. Free parking will be available to those who park on the 2nd or 3rd levels of the parking ramp that is attached to the facility where WMCAT is located. The parking ramp is located at 415 Seward NW (just past the Bridge Street Market.
