    Job Description
    The Procurement Specialist / Sr. Specialist ensures that the subcontracts, materials, items and services required to build and maintain our domestic and international projects are purchased from specified suppliers and are delivered according to agreed terms and conditions of the overarching construction contract. An important aspect of this role is seeking maximum value for the company through time and cost agreements while working with technologically advanced products.

    Responsibilities

    • Provides responsive, high quality service to Walbridge employees, representatives of subcontractors and suppliers by providing accurate, complete and up-to-date information, in a courteous, efficient and timely manner.
    • Update and maintain VMS & Building Connect data bases to ensure compliance with Walbridge Sourcing requirements, to include all necessary contract documentation requirements.
    • Assist in market research. Identify potential sources by socio-economic indicators (i.e.: minority businesses, women owned businesses, small businesses, small and disadvantaged businesses, large businesses, HubZone businesses, etc.), and other agency contracts. Prepare market surveys and document results of market research. Support estimating in preparation of Diversity and small business capability analysis.
    • Expand opportunities to generate value to the enterprise through leveraging / expanding national accounts, consolidating spend and developing other soft income opportunities
    • Read specifications and drawings and perform takeoffs for pricing
    • Communicate and develop relationships with subcontractors and suppliers
    • Assist Estimator in the setup of project procurement plans / matrices.
    • Assist Contract Administration in obtaining all required clearances necessary for subcontract / purchase order award
    • Update and Maintain Zoned Procurement Buy Schedule
    • Coordinates specifications, plans and proposal forms and other documentation necessary to support procurement efforts on Corporate EPR sites.
    • Assist in securing bids/proposals as required
    Qualifications
    • Bachelor's Degree in fields of construction management, engineering or strategic sourcing (Purchasing) experience strongly preferred.
    • Minimum of 6 years previous experience in procurement, construction estimating or construction field operations.
    • Excellent Inter-personal skills, Organization skills, Strong Analytical Ability
