    JOB DESCRIPTION
    Job Summary

    Under moderate direction, defines, documents, analyzes, performs, and interprets developmental tests for new and/or modified products or product components.  Understands development process and applies basic principles, theories, and concepts to job assignments.  Ensures test execution according to requirements and plan.  Addresses testing problems and performs initial failure analysis with other engineering and technical personnel.  Provides technical support and advice to other engineering groups.

    Responsibilities

    • Develops complex test plans for thermal products and outlines testing conditions for test technician to perform testing. Completes test requests and interfaces with the testing lab to coordinate testing and equipment availability.  Interacts with external test facilities to complete validation testing if required.  Performs product tests as appropriate.
    • Accurately reports observed phenomenon without expressing opinions, interpretations or making evaluations of the test results.  Performs initial root cause, failure analysis and works with the design engineering group to develop and maintain test/product improvements.
    • Automates tests.  Continually evaluates testing equipment, instrumentation and recommends new tools to facilitate product testing.  Reviews/ analyzes testing results and makes recommendations for improvement.
    • Trains engineers from other groups in the use of testing equipment.  Provides technical support and advice to other engineering groups.
    • Develops test protocols, processes and standardized report forms.
    • Composes final test reports.  Delivers routine or simple presentations.
    • May participate in benchmarking activities.
    • Analyzes current processes, procedures, systems and makes recommendations for improvement for own job.  May implement suggested improvements.
    • Performs other duties as assigned.
    Qualifications
    • Bachelor's degree in engineering or related field required.
    • 2-5 years of relevant experience required.
    • Good written and verbal communication skills and presentation skills.
