    Nature of Work
    The purpose of this job is to supervise and coordinate the Electricians and Instrument Technicians in all aspects of maintenance, service and installation of the buildings and equipment associated with the Water Resource Recovery Facility (WRRF) and Drinking Water Distribution.  Oversees the Supervisor Control and Data Acquisition (SCADA) systems for the WRRF and the Water Department. Orders electrical and instrument equipment and parts, as well as cell phones and computers for the department.

    Essential Duties & Responsibilities

    Supervises the work of assigned personnel; participates in hiring, training and disciplinary actions; delegates work assignments; conducts performance evaluations
    Inspects work, assuring proper working order of electronic equipment and related devices; ensures proper safety standards and precautions are followed
    Ensures proper maintenance and repair of equipment; oversees preventive maintenance program; makes cost estimates for jobs to be completed
    Performs computer programming for the process control system; debugs software to ensure efficiency of operations
    Responds to inquiries and complaints from the public and customers; provides technical assistance, as needed, to engineers, customers and suppliers
    Writes specifications for equipment and materials; requisitions materials, supplies and equipment as needed
    Approves utility bills, including Electricity, Natural Gas, Water/Sewer, Cell Phones and Cellular Modems; coordinates utilities for new installations; determines utility budget estimates.
    Facilitates and participates in a variety of meetings
    Generates combined sewer overflow reports; manages rainfall data
    Performs related work as required


    Minimum Training and Experience
    MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS
    Required Education and Experience

    High school diploma (or GED equivalent) and satisfactory completion of electrical or electronics trades school
    --AND--
    At least four (4) years of experience related to electronic control systems, including supervisory experience
    --OR--
    Any equivalent combination of training, education, and experience that provides the required skills, knowledge and abilities
    Required Licenses or Certifications

    None 
    Other Necessary Qualifications
    Knowledge of:

    Principles, practices, methods and equipment of computerized process control systems
    Safety standards and precautions connected with equipment maintenance and repair
    Electronic metering devices and equipment
    Applicable computer applications
    Principles and practices of employee supervision
    Principles and practices of basic bookkeeping
    Modern office procedures, methods and computer equipment
    Skill in:

    Interpersonal skills necessary to develop and maintain effective and appropriate working relationships 
    Performing a variety of duties, often changing from one task to another of a different nature
    Performing basic mathematical functions such as addition, subtraction, multiplication, division, percentages, and ratios
    Assigning, prioritizing, monitoring, and reviewing work assignments
    Ability to:

    Plan, organize and implement effective and proper process control system maintenance and repair
    Diagnose and assess system problems and take appropriate corrective actions
    Write effective computer programs
    Read and interpret blueprints
    Prepare clear and concise reports
    Communicate effectively, both orally and in writing
    Meet schedules and deadlines of the work
    Understand and carry out oral and written directions
    Accurately organize and maintain paper documents and electronic files
    Maintain the confidentiality of information and professional boundaries
