Tim Ha, Chief Investment Officer at First Independence Bank
First Independence Bank is a full-service financial institution headquartered in Detroit, Michigan. He has been serving for various key functions in accounting, finance, investment and treasury segments of formerly First Michigan Bank, Talmer Bank, Chemical Bank, TCF National Bank and Huntington National Bank by completing over 10 mergers for more than 20 years of banking experience.
Prior to Huntington Bank, Tim served as an Air Force officer and worked at The Commerical Bank of Korea, JP Morgan Chase, The Private Bank, BDO USA, and Flagstar Bank.
He has been serving as board of directors and actively involved in various non-profit organizations including Asian Pacific American Chamber of Commerce (APACC), National Association of Asian American Professionals, Detroit chapter (NAAAP), The Association of Korean-American Professionals in the Automotive Industry (KPAI), AAPI Advisory Board to Oakland County in MI, and Eastern Michigan University Center for Health Disparities Innovations & Studies (CHDIS) to support community development activities and social networking for several years, and previously served as an executive board member and treasurer of Troy High School Bank Boosters (2016-2019).
He earned a bachelor's degree in Economics from the University of Michigan, Ann Arbor, a master's degree in Accounting from Walsh College in Troy, and received a certificate from graduate school of banking from the University of Wisconsin in Madison.
